About
IPSU-Lex is an independent publication I started in order to look closely at intellectual property law. I write about decisions, legislative change and international practice in trademark, copyright and design.
The author
Aysu K. Ergin. I work in intellectual property law, mainly on trademark filing and opposition proceedings, copyright disputes, and the intellectual property questions the fashion industry raises.
What I write about
Most pieces begin with a single decision or a single provision. The aim is not to summarise but to show which question the decision answers, how it answers it, and what that means in practice.
The publication runs in two languages: pieces concerning Turkish practice are written in Turkish, those for an international reader in English, and most have a counterpart in both.
Where the name comes from
“Ipsu” means “one who seeks”. This publication is largely a record of that search.
